If you’re on this page, that means that you are looking for the non-technical information.
The world of technology, websites, and code can be intimidating.
But working with a developer shouldn’t be.
If we start a project together, we will be on the same team.
I hope you enjoy reading this page, and I hope that I can help break the ice by sharing a little about myself to get things started!
Let me introduce myself, share a little background story, and (hopefully!) have a few laughs along the way.
(All screenshots used on this page are from some of my projects that I am able to share.)
Ready???
Let’s begin…
I Create Code
I started creating websites as a hobby.
I began with the basics: HTML and CSS.
The good thing about websites is that they all start with the basics.
Even the most advanced web tools rely on a foundation of the underlying HTML and CSS.
And no matter how complicated a project ends up being, it all starts with an empty file.
But then, something happened...

I Create Connections
I will always remember the first time I connected one website to another. A simple API call to display Etsy listings.

I Create Full Stack Apps
Once I got a taste of development, I didn’t want to turn back.
I found out very quickly that although I do enjoy a website that looks good (web design). I am very drawn to the ‘make it work’ side (web development).
I had coded my first full stack web app, but it felt like overkill for most websites…
So I took a little detour...

I Create Websites
I explored several website builder options.
I was happy to discover that WordPress is a free and open source tool that allows people to get started with creating websites with a much lower level of technical knowledge than many other options.

It all comes together...
I Create Custom Web Solutions
I started making WordPress Plug-ins.
I discovered the connections between JavaScript, PHP, WordPress, ReactJS, and other technologies.
This allowed me to gain a deeper knowledge of WordPress than most people that use it have.
Although this was a big step to take, I am so glad I did.
Because this meant that I was no longer limited by what themes or plugins were out there, now I could add the custom functions needed for the websites that I built.
